To further hype up the game’s release, SEGA and RGG Studio shared an interview with First Summer Uika, the voice of Noah Rich in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
In case you’re unfamiliar, First Summer Uika is a Japanese singer and actress who first became popular as part of the group BILLIE IDLE®. Since then, she has become a solo singer and an actress.
Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is not her first appearance in Like a Dragon though as First Summer Uika played Akame in Like a Dragon: Gaiden. For that role, she not only served as the voice actress but she was also the model.
This time, she’s back in another Yakuza game, but her character is new and wildly different. In the new game, she voices Noah Rich, a young island boy who saves Majima. In the interview, First Summer Uika shares her thoughts as well as the challenges she faced on voicing the new character. There, she is joined by RGG Studio head Masayoshi Yokoyama.
You can watch her interview on SEGA’s official YouTube channel.
As for her character Noah Rich, his character profile reads:
A boy from Rich Island who is brimming with curiosity. He saved Majima’s life by giving him some water. Even though his father forbids him from leaving the island due to a chronic illness, Noah yearns to see the outside world.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will launch on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on February 21, 2025.
