Iron Man Heartbreaker by Hot Toys
Dozens of new armors by Tony Stark were introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during Iron Man 3. While it was awesome to see all of them kicking butt, the short amount of screen time each individual armor had did not do justice to any of Tony’s inventions. We see this more and more as Hot Toys, the official 1/6th scale figure manufacturer of the Iron Man series from the MCU, ships the various suits.
Take for example this new bad ass figure that arrived at our doorstep a few days ago: the Iron Man Mark 17: Heartbreaker. This figure is so imposing that it simply reeks of power. The level of design and detail is just mind-blowingly good! I mean seriously, look at these photos:
First let’s talk about the head sculpt. I don’t know about you but it kinda reminds me of Ultron from the upcoming Avengers 2: Age of Ultron movie. The big metallic bands on the sides of its head makes it more threatening than the generic Iron Man suits. We also love how the metallic gray color traces the chin which just adds to the epicness of the Heartbreaker.
Next let’s talk about the Arc Reactor. The Heartbreaker’s Arc Reactor is pretty huge which gives you the impression that it’s overflowing with power. To that point the light effect was intentionally made to look like it was spilling over along it’s ribs. We see the metal bands again here in the torso coming from the shoulders and the lower flanks of the body as if putting the Arc Reactor in the center of an X.
When it comes to extras and accessories, the figure just comes with a couple of extra varied palm pegs and the base. While this might come as disappointing to some, we feel that the design, build, and over-all quality of the figure makes up for it. It is simply a joy to pose and take pics of!

We’re slowly expanding our Iron Man collection and so far this is our favorite! Marvel and Hot Toys just knocked this one out of the park. Definitely worth buying for any Iron Man fan or figure collector. If you wanna buy locally in the Philippines, there are still a few stores that sell it in Shoppesville Plus in Greenhills. It usually sells anywhere from Php11,000 to Php13,000.
Watch out for our next Iron Man armor Hot Toys review soon!
