You know him as Paul Rudd – actor, comedian, and filmmaker extraordinaire. Soon, the world will add another moniker to his list of pseudonyms – specifically Marvel’s size-changing wonder, the Astonishing Ant-Man!

Finally unveiling the long awaited trailer during the two-hour premiere of Marvel’s Agent Carter on ABC, Marvel is geared up for a superhero hero like no other with “Ant-Man“, which is described as more of a “heist movie” than someone who takes on powers and fights the bad guys.

And here’s the trailer itself. Take a bow, shrink in size, and squint to see a small hero make a big difference!

Directed by Peyton Reed, Rudd stars as Scott Lang/ Ant-Man – a thief who is given a chance to make a difference when he is selected by renowned entomologist Dr. Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas) to be the new guy behind the Ant-Man suit. Fighting to save the future of humanity and prove himself to his daughter, Scott battles against corrupt and evil forces as he seeks to protect Pym’s technology from falling into the wrong hands.

Once helmed and championed by Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz man Edgar Wright, creative differences between Marvel and the English director made Ant-Man go through a lengthy production process that was literally years in the making. Ultimately due to those differences, Wright chose to leave the project, with Marvel selecting Reed as his replacement. Now that the movie is prepped up to be released after Avengers: Age of Ultron, one can only hope the Marvel Cinematic Universe proves itself once more by handling and accept a small sized hero who can talk to ants… Literally.

Ant-Man shrinks and bounces into theaters on July 17, 2015.
