Rumors will be rumors.
But it certainly is exciting nevertheless to hear news of the possibility that one of the most anticipated crossovers in film history that was supposed to be released in early 2016 has been split into two… And we MAY be getting the first installment later this year!
In a story posted by Ain’t It Cool News, a rumor has surfaced that the reported first teaser for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” that’s expected to be attached with February’s “Juputer Ascending” will contain a surprise announcement.
To back up that claim, a leaked image suddenly popped up in Imgur, which is allegedly taken from said teaser. It apparently spells out that “Batman v Superman” is taking the “Hunger Games” approach, and will split itself into TWO MOVIES. Interestingly enough, that means fans and moviegoers who want to see the Man of Steel battle the Dark Knight early will be getting their chance, as the screen cap shows “Batman V Superman – Part I: Enter The Knight” for an October 23, 2015 release date! That means “Dawn of Justice” will be the second part, and is coming on the original release date of March 25, 2016.
How this rumor came about and whether it holds ground is anyone’s guess, but it’s better to wait for official word from Warner Bros and DC Entertainment before actually jumping the gun and getting all excited about this prospect. It’s no secret that WB is looking to jumpstart their own “DC Cinematic Universe” with a bang, and after kicking things off with Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” last 2013, they need the push badly to introduce the seeds that will eventually build up to the long awaited “Justice League” movie. That film in itself is split into two, with Part One releasing in 2017, and Part Two in 2019.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will star Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. The film, once again directed by Zack Snyder, is due on March 25, 2016.
