A new Kombat is emerging very soon, as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios prepare to unleash the new sequel to the long-running Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise with “Mortal Kombat X” – the tenth main title in the franchise that brings forth new storylines and bloody vicious fatalities from mainstay fighters and newcomers alike.
However the arena wouldn’t be complete without a guest character making an appearance, and just like the ninth semi-reboot entry “Mortal Kombat” a couple of years ago that brought forth horror movie icon Freddy Krueger into the picture… Now comes another face from that genre that fans will be all too familiar with.
Yes Friday The 13th fans… JASON VORHEES IS COMING TO MORTAL KOMBAT X!
Making the announcement in his official Twitter page (and on Friday The 13th no less), Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon was proud to reveal that the hockey mask wearing slasher would appear as a playable character in the game, complete with an announcement trailer that shows the freakish killer from Camp Crystal Lake revealed… And the all too familiar chilling “Ch-Ch-Ch-Cha-Cha-Cha” sound that signals his presence.
Mortal Kombat will be released for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC starting April 14, 2015.
