If you haven’t heard the news by now, it’s gone viral in the interwebz – the very first trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit the internet yesterday through a leaked camcorded source, and Warner Bros. has swiftly pulled down all of the various YouTube and video links that have managed to be uploaded online.

For those who didn’t manage to catch it, a lot of things happened in the trailer that pretty much sets up why The Man of Steel is going to go toe-to-toe with The Dark Knight – a lot of misplaced anger, public resentment, and the place of individuals with extraordinary abilities have a lot to do with it. Following his titanic battle in Metropolis with General Zod in the end of Man of Steel, Clark Kent/ Superman’s place in the world is being questioned by humanity, led by political figures and those who are out to get him… Such as Lex Luthor. It’s because of his “False God” status that gets Supes into conflict with Bruce Wayne/ Batman, who literally has a lot of rage and anger to dish out against The Last Son of Krypton for reasons still unknown to the audience. The final seconds of the trailer show Bats armored up and asking Superman “If He Bleeds“, to which The Dark Knight promises the Kryptonian that “He Will“.

While news and fan sites like Batman-News have featured the trailer, the real and official HD version is supposed to premiere later this Monday online following an exclusive IMAX screening being held in selected territories in the US and Canada. Time will tell if director Zack Snyder decides to release it earlier or on schedule. For now, many in the world have had an early glimpse of things.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, starring Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman, hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
