It’s a new year and there’s lots of new things to look forward to in the world of video games… But Sony Computer Entertainment and Playstation are taking this opportunity to pull out the cards and tempt players, collectors, and those looking for great deals to their side, as they’ve gone and unleashed their first “Playstation Essentials Sale” for 2016, stacking the kind of deals that will either make you jump for joy or cry because you’re about to spend your moolah on gaming greatness!
Starting things off on the Playstation 4 department, Big Titles like Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty Ghosts, and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag have gone on sale as well as their bundles, and those have even bigger discounted prices if you happen to subscribe to Playstation Plus! Also, the recently added “PS2 on PS4” library has some of their titles on discount, such as the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy consisting of Grant Theft Auto III, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas!
For the PSOne Classic side, there’s a TON of stuff and essentials that truly belong in a gamer’s classic library, and chief among them is Final Fantasy VII – which costs $4 regularly AND JUST $2.99 FOR PS PLUS USERS. Then you have a couple of other J-RPG gems like Final Fantasy Tactics, Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Cross for the same price range, and then Xenogears… One of the most underrated Squaresoft RPGs of the original Playstation era on sale… There’s PLENTY TO CHOOSE.
The Playstation 3 library isn’t scarce either – Batman: Arkham Origins goes for $10 regularly/ $7.99 for PS Plus. Devil May Cry HD Collection is $7.50/ $5.99 PS Plus, and Dragon Age: Inquisition Deluxe Edition $12.50/ $9.99 PS Plus. Lotsa good deals for last generation’s console offerings!
For those who like to be on the go, PS Vita has cool treats with games like Persona 4: The Golden getting a very nice discount at $12/ $8.99 PS Plus, Rayman Origins at $9.45/ $6.74 PS Plus, and Freedom Wars at $7.50/ $5.99 PS Plus.
