While Team Mineski and Execration from the Philippines fought to the bitter end, it was Team Secret, led by Puppey, who won the finals in a 3-0 sweep against Execration to claim the title of being the first ever ROG Masters Champion and taking home a whopping 150,000$ for their efforts! Team Secret, with their revamped lineup consisting of Puppey, pieliedie, MP, KheZu, and MidOne, rolled into the Masters as the crowd favorite and their strong play did not disappoint the huge number of fans that came over to watch them play. Dealing a decisive 3-0 victory over Execration, Secret has proven that you can never ever count them out, not with Puppey at the helm of the team. Although they did not qualify for the Boston Major, their performance here proves that they are ready to storm the Dota 2 scene once again, all the other teams beware!
While Execration may have lost to Team Secret in the finals, they have indeed gained valuable experience going into the Boston Major. Composed of Filipino prodigies such as KimO, Gabbi, DJ, Abed, and Rapy, with 343 as an official substitute, Execration has shown very impressive performances as of late, with a championship from the Malaysian Leg of the MPGL back in September to cap off a good run. We can only hope that this loss at the Masters will only fuel the fire for Execration as they now set their sights on the upcoming Major, they will look to prove doubters wrong and are ready to show the world that their direct invite is well deserved!
