Computex Taipei happened recently. For the uninitiated, it’s the world’s leading trade show concentrating on building global technology ecosystems. In other words, Computex is THE place to be for all the things we want to spend our hard earned cash on. From Gaming and VR to Innovations and startups, Computex features the latest technology that the market has to offer. Leading the charge of innovations and ground breaking products is Asus, who recently showcased A LOT of items during Computex! Let’s take a look at some of the items they highlighted during the show!
For networking, Asus featured a couple of products that is sure to improve the quality of your everyday PC experience. The Blue Cave is an elegantly designed AC2600-class dual-band smart Wi-Fi router that is the perfect match for modern multi-device homes. A winner of a Computex 2017 Best Choice Golden Award, Blue Cave combines superb performance, commercial-grade security and family friendly features with stylish good looks. Next up is the Asus Lyra, which is a tri-band, tri-hub whole-home mesh Wi-Fi system that delivers complete Wi-Fi signal coverage to every corner of the home. With the world approaching a state where everything is connected to the internet, Asus ensures that we’re one step ahead of the curve, allowing all devices to stay connected wherever you are in your home.
The latest smartphones were also on display as the Asus ZenFone AR, ZenFone 3 Zoom and ZenFone Live took center stage. A winner of a 2017 Computex Best Choice Award, ZenFone AR is the world’s first Tango-enabled and Daydream-ready smartphone. Attendees got to experience other Google Tango AR apps, as well as a few Virtual Reality (VR) apps on the Daydream headset, which immerses users in a whole new reality.

On the mobile computing front, Asus showcased the new ASUS ZenBook and VivoBook laptops — including the ZenBook Flip S (UX370), ZenBook Pro (UX550), ZenBook 3 Deluxe (UX490), ASUS VivoBook Pro 15 (N580) and ASUS VivoBook S15 (S510)! One particular device that caught our eye was the ZenBook UX430, which is a compact 13-inch laptop with a work-friendly 14-inch NanoEdge display. Displays have been an Asus trademark as well and with the introduction of their gaming displays such as the Swift PG279Q, surely Asus has something in mind for the creative professionals as well. Look no further as a slew of displays were announced, starting with the ProArt PA27AC, which features a 27-inch 2560 x 1440 WQHD IPS panel and a four-sided frameless design. It provides exceptional visuals thanks to a 100 percent sRGB color space coverage and HDR 10 support. On the other hand, the Designo MZ27AQ features a 27-inch 2560 x 1440 WQHD IPS panel with 100 percent sRGB color coverage. While Asus has been busy on the mobile and display front, technological advancements have also come to the healthcare sector as Asus introduces the VivoBaby, a baby-monitoring system that tracks an infant’s skin temperature, heart rate and abdominal movements which can be programmed to automatically alert parents to any sudden changes to the baby’s condition via the Vivobaby app. The international design-award-winning Vivobaby system consists of three components: the wearable Vivobaby monitoring device, the Vivobaby station for charging and communication, and the Vivobaby app for Android™ and iOS devices. Talk about a babysitter that does more than babysit!
There is also the Asus Zenbo, the first commercially available home robot designed to provide assistance, entertainment and companionship to families. It’s interesting to note that the Zenbo won three awards at Computex 2017 — Best Choice of the Year, Best Choice Golden and Computex d&i awards!
