Early last week, OPPO Philippines unveiled 2 new addition to their growing #SelfieExpert mobile phone family, the OPPO A57 and the matte Black edition of the widely received OPPO F3.
Eason de Guzman, OPPO’s newest PR Manager, took the stage and expounded on the two new phones that will certainly create ripples once again in this selfie-loving nation of ours.
“Pinoys love their selfies and OPPO wants to position itself as the phone that gives them the most out of their selfie-taking experience,” quips de Guzman.
The A57 is a remarkably small but powerful device. With its 5.2” body, the phone packs a whopping 16-megapixel front facing camera like that of the F1 with the addition of the new bokeh feature. It has an f/2.0 aperture lens, Beautify 4.0, palm shutter gesture where, if enabled, will signal the camera to take the shot without the need to press any virtual button (this reduces camera shake and will help create clearer and better photos).
The rear camera is decent as well, although not as powerful as the front facing. Sporting only 13-megapixels, it does use a Sony IMX258 sensor paired with a large F2.2 aperture that provides high light sensitivity and clarity that works even in night setup.
As for processor, the A57 utilizes the new 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 Octa-core processor and quipped with 3GB of RAM. It’s obviously incomparable to the 600-range of the Snapdragon but the 435 flows pretty smooth when we got the chance to fiddle with it.
Look-wise, the A57 sports a premium body finish with a gold metallic back detail, the A57 looks premium enough even if it doesn’t have an aluminum frame. The price? Php 11,990. Yeahp, 12k for this baby. Which is a pretty awesome price for what its packing. We were able to get a hold of one so we’ll do a full review of this soon (with more wacky photos hopefully).
On to the more premium end, the successor to the F-series, the F3 gets a matte black finish. Deep, dark, and seductive, the OPPO f3 Black Edition still comes in its signature full metal body finish. The matte black just adds a level of simplistic sophistication. Everything that consumers came to love about the f3 is still included – amazing camera
“Our new OPPO F3 Black is our answer for people who are looking for more ways to match their smartphone with their lifestyle and fashion preference. Not only that we are bringing more options to consumers into the table, but its also one of the few models in its price range to have color options. ” – Stephen Cheng, Brand Marketing Manager of OPPO Philippines.
The OPPO F3 now comes in 3 colors: Gold, Rose Gold and Matte Black, they also come pre-installed with a screen protector and a clear jelly case for added protection. It’s also priced at Php 16,990 but for a limited time only, you can get it for Php 15,990 (part of their back to school promo).
OPPO was kind enough to lend us both the A57 and an OPPO F3 Plus (the big brother edition of the F3) and we’ll take it to rounds with us trying to see what geekery we can do with it! I’m pretty sure we’ll have a ton of selfie shenanigans going your way!
