Recently, there’s been an explosion in the number of gaming smartphones, with brands such as ASUS ROG and Xiaomi coming out with phones aimed at avid mobile gamers. Not to be outdone, Razer recently announced its latest flagship gaming device — the Razer Phone 2.
The Razer Phone 2 is the follow-up to last year’s Razer Phone, and while both phones look nearly identical, the second iteration comes with a couple of new bells and whistles. The Razer Phone 2 packs an upgraded processor, a Snapdragon 845 to be exact that’s coupled with an Adreno 630 GPU. To complement the powerful processor, the Razer Phone 2 features 8 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage, and a large 4000mAh battery.
Razer’s latest flagship also supports wireless charging, as the phone now has a glass back; though there will also be a matte back model as well. The Razer Phone 2 also has an RGB Razer logo at the back, unlike the previous model’s static green logo. At the front meanwhile, the Razer Phone 2 has 5.7-inch qHD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, similar to last year’s Razer Phone.
With its beefy internals, the Razer Phone 2 should have no problem running any game out on the Play Store. Speaking of games, Razer has partnered with game studios for exclusive content and game optimization for title such as PUBG Mobile and Marvel Future Fight.
The Razer Phone 2 can now be pre-ordered today in select markets (not in the Philippines sadly), with a release date to be announced. The phone is priced at USD $799, 100 Dollars less than the asking price of its main competitor, the ROG Phone (in the US at least).
