Last month, Netflix announced a slew of anime series coming to the platform such as Ultraman, a Devil May Cry adaptation, and many more. Now, another beloved anime is getting the Netflix treatment, and it is Ghost in the Shell.
Netflix recently announced that a new Ghost in the Shell anime is in the works, and it’s entitled Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. While not much has been announced about the series, we did get a visual featuring what seems to be the Major herself, Motoko Kusanagi:
YES, A NEW GHOST IN THE SHELL ANIME IS COMING.
Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 will be directed by Appleseed’s Shinji Aramaki and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex’s Kenji Kamiyama. On @Netflix in 2020!

The new Ghost in the Shell is a 3DCG animated series that will be directed by Shinji Arakami (Appleseed) and Kenji Kamamiya (GitS: Stand Alone Comples director). The duo are also the directors for Netflix’s Ultraman, as well as the upcoming Blade Runner anime. And as with Ultraman, the new GitS series will be produced by Production I.G. and Sola Digital Arts.
