If you thought 2019 couldn’t get any better for anime, you thought wrong! Toei recently announced that a new One Piece movie is in the works! Entitled One Piece Stampede, the film will be the 14th feature-length film of the franchise, and will be released to celebrate One Piece’s 20th Anniversary.

Since it was only an announcement trailer, not much was revealed regarding Stampede’s story. What we do know is that the movie takes place after One Piece Film: Z and One Piece Film: Gold, the two most recent films in the series.
Much like previous films in the franchise, we expect One Piece Stampede to not be part of the anime series canon. Though it would be a pleasant surprise if Stampede turns out to be canon, especially given that this film celebrates the 20th anniversary of the series.
Aside from the trailer, Toei also revealed the first poster for the film here:
One Piece Stampede is slated to release in Japan on August 9, 2019. No word yet on a Philippine release though.
