WHOA! Samsung seems to be getting ready to battle it out on the entry-level and low mid-range smartphone tier with amazing offerings this 2019. To start it off, Samsung earlier unveiled their budget-friendly unit that is posed to keep you entertained for hours and hours on end. Welcome, the Samsung Galaxy M20.
It’s been a while since we got excited for Samsung phones on the entry-level range but with technology being passed down to low and mid-tier phones, we’re happy to see that the Korean brand didn’t scrimp in creating this everyday beater.
The most obvious highlight is the phone’s whopping 5000mah battery, designed to make calls for 29 hours, play videos for up to 17 or listen to music for, get this, 101 hours — all in one charge! WHEW! And when the battery drops below 10%, the Samsung Galaxy M20 has a fast-charging feature that can power the device up to 10% in 10 minutes. That also means…yup, USB C, baybeh!
How many entry-level do you see that offers that?
Powered with a Samsung Exynos 7904 octa-core processor and 3 GB of RAM, the Galaxy M20 can your essential apps with ease. Sure the limited RAM means you probably can’t play some of the triple A games at max-level but hey, the phone really wasn’t meant for that now is it?
On the photography side we were thoroughly impressed with the limited time we had with the phone. The Galaxy M20 is fitted with an 8-Megapixel f/2.0 front camera with live-focus feature that automatically calculates the best photo setting (bokeh included) to capture better selfies. Here’s the result on an indoor shoot with challenging lighting.
The rear camera is fitted with 13-megapixel f/1.9 primary and 5-megapixel f/2.2 wide-angle rear cameras with PDAF and LED Flash that, while struggles a bit during low light, works really well outdoors. Samsung wants you to take in the scenery as much as possible so all the cameras are equipped with Ai to help calculate for best setting as you use the phone over and over again. Add the Galaxy M20’s wide angle camera and you got yourself a winning combo. I didn’t have to play around the phone as much as it automatically adjusts to understand what I’m trying to shoot.
Heck, it determined I was trying to focus on this flower and switched to accommodate macro photography on the M20.
Finally the phone comes with a dew-drop notch, a trend we saw in the past year. This gives you more screen real estate than traditional notch and coupled with Samsung Galaxy M20’s 6.4″ Infinity V FHD+ edge-to-edge display, you’re assured with getting more entertainment out of this awesome entry-level option.
OH AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF, The Samsung Galaxy M20 will be available today at a crazy price-point of Php 10,990! LORD ALMIGHTY! 😀
The phone will be an online, exclusive, though — which makes sense especially if Samsung wants to keep the price low for everyone to enjoy.
