Philippine tabletop enthusiasts are in for something huge as Gaming Library is currently running the All Aboard XL Boardgame event. In celebration of International Tabletop Day (ITTD), the event will feature giant versions of popular board games from around the world. For Gaming Library, this year’s ITTD is extra special as it coincides their 8th anniversary as well. Hence, Gaming Library is pushing the envelope with games that are supersized for an even bigger experience. (get it? hue hue)
The first oversized game experience is the Super Kingdomino XL World Championship Qualifier and MANY are looking forward to this one. Particularly because the champion of the event’s game will get a chance to represent the Philippines in the Kingdomino World Championship, and win an all-expense paid trip to France!
Love the game Settlers of Catan? Well, GOOD NEWS! There will also be a supersized tourney called ‘Big Game Catan’ which will be the first of its kind to be played in the country! Looking for other competitive games? Not to worry! Terraforming Mars, Keyforge, and Blood Rage will have some tournaments during the event as well!
All Aboard XL will definitely be a boardgaming event you won’t want to miss out on as you’ll also have other attractions during the event such as XL versions of Forbidden Island, Marrakech, and Codenames that guests can try to experience and conquer. Unpublished game designers will also get a chance to showcase their games amidst all the boardgaming awesomeness.
All Aboard XL event has a special guest coming to commemorate this milestone event! Eric Lang, multi-awarded game designer of the world’s most popular board games including Blood Rage, Rising Sun, A Game of Thrones: The Card Game, and Victorian Masterminds, will be there on May 18 – 19 for a meet & greet and autograph signing. He will also have a talk about Game Designing, and will be the one to award the Ultimate Blood Rage Tournament Champion.
“For this year’s ITTD, we are taking the Philippine gaming community to a board game wonderland,” said Gaming Library’s Chief Meeple Hans Kenner Fernandez. “We are setting a gigantic stage for gigantic plays that will hopefully inspire people to put their heads together, exceed their limits, and most of all, be receptive of what our games are capable of teaching. We want All Aboard XL to not just provide entertainment but also an opportunity for learning and knowledge-sharing.”
All Aboard XL is set to take place on May 17-19 at the East Atrium, Midlevel 2/3, East Wing of Shangri-La Plaza Mall.
Tickets are FREE, just register at All Aboard XL’s event page!
