Happening right now in Singapore is GameStart 2019, one of the biggest video game conventions in Southeast Asia, and it’s bringing tons of exciting gaming action, gamer tech, and many more!
The event starts today and ends tomorrow, October 13. Right now, attendees are being treated to awesome activities, cool new tech releases, and lots of games ranging from indie titles to tabletop games.
One of the highlight activities of GameStart 2019 is the SEA MAJOR 2019 (SEAM), one of the biggest fighting game tournaments in Asia. SEAM brings with it 366 participants from 22 countries fighting for a chance at glory across 10 titles. The Major has a USD 40,000 prize pool, and plays host to the Asia Regional Finals of the Capcom World Tour (Street Fighter V) along with the Finals of the SOULCALIBUR Asia League.
On the tech side of things, GameStart 2019 is hosting the Singaporean launch of ASUS’ ROG Phone II, the brand’s impressive new gaming smartphone that packs a Snapdragon 855+ processor, a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a massive 6,000mAh battery.
GameStart 2019 is also featuring tabletop indie titles from countries such as Malaysia, Taiwan, and Japan. Finally, the event will let attendees Takoway, a new puzzle mobile game that recently topped the App Store charts.
