Lenovo, EA, and Respawn Entertainment have recently announced a partnership for the Apex Legends Global Series — the premier esports program of Apex Legends. With the partnership, Lenovo Legion will be the official PC and Monitor provider of the Global Series.
For the Global Series, Legion will be providing over 200 high-performance Legion desktops and monitors to ensure the top Apex Legends players will be able to play on top-of-the-line hardware.
The specific Legion PC that will be used is the T730 tower which packs up to 9th Gen Intel Core i7 overclocked 9700K processors and supercharged NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super GPUs, all cooled via Lenovo Coldfront 2.0 with liquid cooling technology. The T730 towers will be paired with Legion Y25 144Hz refresh rate monitors.
The partnership between Lenovo, EA, and Respawn Entertainment will kick off at the first Apex Legends Global Series Major on March 13-15, 2020 in Arlington, Texas.
To qualify for the Global Series Majors, players must first compete in online tournaments. Following this, players must then advance to local Challenger or regional Premier events. Only the top players in the world will advance from Challenger/Premier events to the Apex Legends Global Series Majors. Finally, the best from the Majors will advance to the Apex Legends Global Series Championship happening later this year.
