Heads up content creators and Overwatch fans! Blizzard Entertainment recently announced the return of the Overwatch Map Design Contest for 2020! This contest lets creators and gamers from the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam show off their artistic skills.
For this contest, those who are interested to enter don’t need to submit an actual working map made in a game engine; instead, creators should submit an art work which shows off their new Overwatch map concept.
Interested in entering Blizzard’s Map Design Contest? Here’s a quick overview of the mechanics and other information:
- Artists must submit their art work, along with their design idea and complete registration information today until April 30, 2020 (at 11:59pm PHT)
- Submissions are limited to two art works per ertist
- Contest Timeline
- Submission – March 30 – April 30
- Verification – April 30 – May 4
- Evaluation – May 5 – May 25
- Final Results – May 29
The submitted art works will be evaluated by the Overwatch art team, and the top 8 map designs artists receiving awesome rewards. Players will also be able to vote for their favorite art works, with the top 4 receiving popularity awards by the end of the contest.
