As a gesture of solidarity with anime fans who are currently staying at home due to the pandemic, Studio Khara recently released the first three Rebuild movies on YouTube for free. The announcement of the free release was made via the official Studio Khara twitter. The said studio’s twitter also posted an image of a handwritten note from director Hideaki Anno, offering words of encouragement to medical frontliners and everyone that is affected by COVID-19.
While all three movies are currently available on YouTube with seemingly no region restrictions, the films do not have English subtitles available. Here’s hoping English subs are added soon so even international fans of Evangelion can enjoy.

Not familiar with the Rebuild of Evangelion movies? The films are a re-imagining of the original Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series. The first Rebuild movie was a faithful, near shot-for-shot adaptation of the first six episodes of the original series, though the other two Rebuild movies saw major plot changes, as well as the introduction of several new characters.
