With major game events such as E3 and Gamescom cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, game publishers and developers are instead planning online events to announce or show-off new and upcoming titles. One such developer is CD Projekt RED which recently announced that it is holding a Night City Wire stream on June 25, 2020.
While the event was first announced to happen on June 11, CD Projekt RED decided to move the Night City Wire stream to June 25. This is because of the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests happening all over the US and in other countries around the world.
CD Projekt RED’s statement reads:
“We decided to move Night City Wire to Jun 25th. We still look forward to sharing new information about CP’77, but more important discussions are happening right now and we want them to be heard. We wholeheartedly stand against racism, intolerance and violence. Black Lives Matter.”

CD Projekt RED’s decision to postpone the event was made back in June 3. Following this delay, major game/console announcements from the likes of Blizzard and PlayStation have also been postponed in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.
As for the Night City Wire stream itself, CD Projekt RED has not revealed any info on what exactly it will reveal or announce during the event. Given that the game releases in just a few months, we expect to see more gameplay, as well as more new info to hype gamers up for its September release.
Cyberpunk 2077 releases on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 17, 2020.
