The Resident Evil series is easily one of the most popular game franchises ever, with the series even getting live action film adaptations; though they weren’t exactly well-received by critics. Now though, another live action Resident Evil project is in the works, and this time it’s a series by Netflix!
Netflix recently revealed that a live action Resident Evil series is now in the works. The news was revealed via a tweet by Netflix’s NX page which featured an image of the Resident Evil episode 1 script.
The NX tweet reads:
“When the Wesker kids move to New Raccoon City, the secrets they uncover might just be the end of everything. Resident Evil, a new live action series based on Capcom’s legendary survival horror franchise, is coming to Netflix.”

While there’s not much details yet regarding if the series will be a straight adaptation of the first (or of any) Resident Evil game, Netflix did reveal some facts about the upcoming series. For one, the first season of the series will feature 8 episodes, with each episode being 1 hour long. The series will also be helmed by Adrew Dabb of Supernatural fame, with the first two episodes to be directed by Brownen Hughes (The Walking Dead, The Journey Is the Destination).
