Following the announcement of an upcoming ROG x IKEA collection, ASUS ROG has revealed another special collaboration, this time with renowned techwear/streetwear brand ACRONYM. ASUS ROG and ACRONYM’s collaboration is for a special edition Zephyrus G14.
The special edition ROG Zephryus G14 ACRNM RMT01 packs the ASUS-exclsuive AniMe Matrix panel, complete with eight ACRONYM-designed animations exclusive to this device. Aside from special animations, the Zephyrus G14 ACRNM features custom materials, etching, machining, and special paints for a truly unique laptop.
The laptop’s design isn’t the only new thing about the special edition Zephyrus G14 though, as the notebook even has special packaging. Plus, the Zephyrus G14 ACRNM laptop has a unique ACRONYM® Airpak laptop sleeve is designed to be reusable and recyclable
Design aside, the Zephyrus G14 ACRNM packs powerful internals, including an AMD Ryzen 9 CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. The laptop also has a 14-inch display that’s PANTONE validated, as well as a thin chassis that’s less than 20mm thin.
In case you’re unfamiliar, ACRONYM is a German technical apparel design agency founded by Michaela Sachenbacher and Errolson Hugh back in 1994. Aside from creating apparel under its own brand, ACRONYM has also worked on product lines for Nike and Arc’Teryx, as well as virtual video game gear for Square Enix / EIDOS. ACRONYM has even collaborated with Kojima Productions for a limited edition BRIDGES x ACRNM jacket.
For the ROG collaboration, Hugh teamed up with designer David Rudnick to create a unique vision of the ROG Zephyrus G14. Together, Hugh and Rudnick designed and prototyped bespoke typefaces and material treatments for ASUS ROG’s latest gaming notebook.
