The first fully-integrated and homegrown esports and gaming platform, KALARO, went live last night. The platform aims to provide an end-to-end solution for both gamers, content creators and brands that wish to enrich and delve into the very colorful world of video games and esports.
Kalaro is made by an original team of 4 Filipino tech experts and business leaders with more than 85 years of combined experience. The platform has tournament management and corporate brand sponsorship features to cater to more than 43 million Esports enthusiasts and companies in the Philippines.
“We are thrilled to witness Kalaro finally come to life. With Kalaro, we aim to serve millions of Esports enthusiasts in the country; the exponential growth of online tech and Esports is just phenomenal,” said Jun D. Lasco, Kalaro software architect and Founder of The-AsiaGroup.com Inc./ Pnex Int’l Corporation.
So…what is it?
During the media briefing, it took a while for us to fully grasp the concept of Kalaro. At the start it seemed like they wanted to do too many things all at the same time — a virtual hub for esports players, coaches, shoutcasters, analysts, spectators and sponsors all rolled into one neat site with social media integration, tournament bracketing capabilities and even ecommerce.
At first we thought the guys were creating their own Twitch or YouTube platform but that doesn’t to be the case. Checking Kalaro.net further the main focus of the site really is to give communities an easier time to conduct esports tournaments regardless of size. In addition, Kalaro welcomes gaming content creators and influencers to the platform so that they can reach more Pinoy gamers and enthusiasts and even potential advertisers. The social media integration doesn’t take away your ability to earn in your respective thriving platforms like Twitch, FB.GG or YouTube but enables easier discover by other people by showing all of these in Kalaro. On top of that, Kalaro enables one to earn more via their Kalaro’s robust ecommerce capability.
Kalaro has an online storefront for interested parties, especially brands, to sponsor, advertise and sell merch items directly to Kalaro community. Transaction can be done via Kalaro’s online currency, Kalaro Gems, which also grants various incentive for users via bonuses on say Razer Gold Coins, or other brand partners that support the platform.
The platform, developed using Google’s Progressive Web App framework running on Amazon Web Services infrastructure, was crafted in collaboration with international corporate tech-brands namely National Computer Systems (NCS) of Singapore and ERNI from Switzerland. Kalaro also got support from local companies Union Bank of the Philippines, DragonPay, GCash, and Globe Labs to make transactions seamless, safe, and secure.
“We want to provide our Filipino players with the best gaming experience. In the same way, we want corporate brands to further reach their market through the platform. We look forward to having a strong community of brands and Esports enthusiasts that can create new opportunities,” said Renalyn B. David, Board of Directors and Corporate Secretary of The-AsiaGroup.com Inc./ Pnex Int’l Corporation.
Kicking-off the launch of Kalaro is their inaugural Kalaro Founder’s Cup, a 3-game tournament of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Valorant and League of Legends that starts today, October 13, 2020 to November 8, 2020!
