During the recent Resident Evil Showcase, Capcom revealed a lot of new footage and info for its upcoming title, Resident Evil Village. One of the biggest reveals during the event is the game’s release date. Resident Evil Village will release on May 7, 2021.
Aside from the game’s release date, Capcom showed off two new trailers, including Village’s first gameplay reveal. Along with these, Capcom also announced that a demo for the game is available now, though only on the PS5.
The Village demo for PS5 is titled “Maiden”, and it does not feature combat, nor does it start the main protagonist, Ethan Winters. Instead, “Maiden” is a standalone demo that aims to give players a taste of the RE8 experience, without giving away anything that will happen in the main game (think the first RE7 demo).
As a PS5-exclusive demo, “Maiden” features ray tracing and 3D Audio. Though for players on different consoles or on PC, Capcom promised that another demo is releasing this spring on all platforms.

Resident Evil Village releases on May 7, 2021 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
