Aloy jumps off the Battle Bus for Fortnite’s ‘Primal’ season

A perfect addition to the season's roster.

The latest season of Fortnite is in full swing and with it reveals a new participant jumping off the Battle Bus for its “Primal-themed” event and its none other than the bow-wielding, trap-placing badass Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn!

There is a lot happening here but to start things off, on April 15 you can avail in the game’s item shop the Horizon Zero Dawn Bundle which includes the following:

  • Aloy Outfit
  • Blaze Canister Back Bling
  • Glinthawk Glider
  • Aloy’s Spear Pickaxe
  • Heart-rizon Emote
  • Shield-Weaver Wrap
  • Aloy the Skywatcher Loading Screen*

*While all the items can be purchased separately, getting the bundle is the only way you can acquire the Aloy the Skywatcher Loading Screen, which looks really neat if you ask me.

Alternatively, you may want to compete in the “duos only” Aloy Cup for a chance to unlock the Horizon Zero Dawn Bundle early, before it hits the item shop. This limited-time event happens in a 3-hour window happening on April 14 and will only be available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, check the “compete tab” in-game for region-specific timings on that day.

Speaking of the PlayStation 5, if you are one of the lucky one’s who have that console, if you happen to get the Aloy outfit you might want to log-in during the limited-time period to unlock for free Ice Hunter Aloy Style, based on the Banuk Ice Hunter outfit from Horizon Zero Dawn.

Lastly, another limited-time Duos mode will be available from 6AM PT / 9 AM ET on April 16 to 6AM PT / 9 AM ET on April 18. Here Aloy will pair up with none other than Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft, another legendary video game character in a very nice and fitting collaboration.

Mechanics from PlayStation’s official Blog:

Players will automatically be outfitted as either Aloy or Lara in this Duos mode, with their teammate being outfitted as the other. At your disposal will only be the bow for Aloy and Dual Pistols for Lara — keep an eye out for wildlife and master your crafting skills to upgrade your weapons.

I don’t know about you guys, but Aloy seems to be a perfect fit in a lot of video games in my wheelhouse (Monster Hunter: World). Though I’m most likely to find it really weird the moment I see her carry an Assault Rifle or a Pistol in-game. On a rather different note, though, expect to see some gamer’s dropping some crazy dance moves like with what they did with the Kratos skin once the iconic character drops April 15.
