At the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo has revealed Metroid Dread, the first new 2D Metroid game in 19 years!
Check out the new trailer for the game here:
While Metroid fans have been waiting for a new Metroid Prime game, Dread is more of an old-school 2D title in the vein of the older Metroid games. Still, this is great news for fans of the series, especially as it’s been a while since we saw a full Metroid release. And based on the snippets of gameplay that Nintendo showed, this game has a lot of promise, especially for long-time fans of the series.
Metroid Dread will release exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on October 8, 2021.
