While there’s still no word yet on Grand Theft Auto 6, remasters of GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas are reportedly in the works, and they are said to release soon on various platforms, including on the Nintendo Switch.
According to a report by Kotaku, remasters of this classic GTA trilogy are in the works at Rockstar. Kotaku’s report was based on sources close to Rockstar, and they also stated that Rockstar Dundee is heading the development of the remasters.
Along with these info, the report also detailed that this Grand Theft Auto remaster trilogy will be made using Unreal Engine, and will feature a mix of “new and old graphics.” Along with graphical enhancements, the remasters are also said to feature an updated UI, but will still “stay true to the PS2-era GTA games as much as possible.”
For longtime fans of the series, GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas are considered as classics as they not only solidified the modern GTA formula, they’re also incredibly fun and memorable games in their own right. And while the original versions of these games are available on PC and even smartphones, a remastered version of these will definitely be treats for fans.
