Valve aims to release the Steam Deck on next month, by hook or by crook–or so they say.
In a recent update via blog post, they reaffirmed their claims to follow through with the Steam Deck launch.
“First and foremost, we’re on track to ship Steam Deck on time. Global pandemic, supply issues, and shipping issues notwithstanding, it looks like we’ll be able to start getting these out the door by the end of February.”
Valve has assured the public that the necessary tests are being conducted by developers in order to expand their library of verified games. So far, we have Portal 2 as a confirmed verified title, and we can surely expect more in the coming days.
This is good news, as their initial release in December of 2021 was pushed further into the next year due to complications involving the world’s current situation. While we’re all hyped for what’s to come, we still have a good month and a half to see if Valve stays true to their word. We’ll also have to wait and see its availability per region. And here’s hoping the Steam Deck releases in the Philippines as well.
Until then, we’ll keep you posted on what unfolds.
