Netflix dropped lots of big announcements at Geeked Week, and among them is Castlevania: Nocturne, the next Castlevania animated series.
As teased last year, Nocturne follows Richter Belmont (the main protagonist of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood) along with Maria Renard, and it will be set in France during the French Revolution.
Check out the official announcement from Netflix here:
The Nocturne animated series is by showrunner Kevin Kolde and Creator/Writer Clive Bradley. It is produced by Project 51 Productions with production services provided by Powerhouse Animation.
This upcoming animated series is a follow-up to Netflix’s hit Castlevania series which is composed of four seasons, the first of which was released in July 2017 and had only four episodes. Because of the first season’s success, the show continued until its fourth and final season in 2021. The first Castlevania series followed Trevor Belmont, Alucard, and Sypha Belnades as they defend their nation from the forces of Dracula.
Given the success of the Casltevania series, there’s definitely lots of hype behind this upcoming follow-up. Here’s hoping then that the Richter Belmont-led show will be just as good (if not even better).
Castlevania: Nocturne will premiere exclusively on Netflix, but there’s no word yet on when the series will release, nor is there info on the number of episodes that the series’ first season will have.
