Square Enix officially announces Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

In the 25th Anniversary Celebration video, Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the second part of the FF7 Remake project.

In the FF7 25th Anniversary Celebration video, Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth which is Part 2 of the FF7 Remake project.

The announcement comes via a trailer which gives us our first look at the upcoming entry in the FF7 Remake series. In the trailer, we are given a glimpse of Cloud and Sephiroth together, along with an extended look at Zack Fair and Cloud surviving the end of the events of Crisis Core.

Check out the trailer for the game here:

Along with the game’s official announcement, it was also revealed that the complete FF7 Remake project will be composed of three parts, with Rebirth being the second. Currently though, there’s no word yet on the title for the third game in the series.

As the end of FF7 Remake Part 1 deviated from the events of the original game, it will be interesting to see what will happen in Part 2. Given that it’s entitled ‘Rebirth’, it’s likely that the events of Part 2 will be wildly different from the OG FF7.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is set to release in Winter 2023 for the PS5. Given FF7 Remake’s timed PlayStation exclusivity, we expect FF7 Rebirth to be a timed exclusive for the PS5 as well.
