While it was confirmed back in October of last year that Disney+ is confirmed to release in the Philippines, there has been no update yet since then from Disney. Until now that is.
Recently, Disney Philippines posted a job opening on LinkedIn for an “Assistant Manager – Social Media for Disney+”. In the posting, it’s mentioned that this Assistant Manager position will take the lead in “Social Media Marketing for the launch of D+ in the Philippines.”
Aside from this role, Disney also has other open positions, including “Manager Brand And Content Marketing” and “Executive, Curation & Planning, Disney+, Philippines,” among others, that will handle Disney+-related responsibilities.
Given that Disney is hiring for multiple Disney+-focused roles, it’s highly likely that the streaming service release in the Philippines is coming very soon.
Aside from a potential Disney+ PH launch, the job post also has several interesting bits of information.
Specifically, the posting has “regional support for Asian titles” among the requirements. In the Qualifications part, “ideally someone who is incredibly passionate about Korea/Asian titles” is also listed. This possibly indicates that Disney+ Philippines will carry Korean Dramas and other Asian TV shows or movies.

With these job postings, it won’t be a surprise to see Disney+ Philippines get launched sometime this year. Fingers crossed that we won’t have to wait too long so Pinoy fans can get a convenient way to watch the latest Marvel and Star Wars shows, among other content.
