Japan has always been a place where delightfully quirky things manage to surprise us every now and then. From McDonalds going Gundam to an actual Sailor Moon Museum, no feat of fanfare is too great.
This time around, the Miyazaki Bougainvillea airport in Miyazaki prefecture got the Pokemon treatment courtesy of a gigantic, “life-sized” Alolan Exeggutor. This, of course, was business as usual.

You’d probably be thinking, “How could this possibly be normal? This isn’t Christmas.” You’d be correct with the latter. Let’s clarify the first query.
Alolan Exeggutor, in particular, was appointed as one of the Miyazaki prefecture’s Pokemon brand ambassadors due to it being named “The Sunny Spot of Japan” due to its warm climate, and the aforementioned Pokemon resembling the prefectural “Phoenix Palm Tree.” Because of this, a special series of merchandise and programs have been released.
This tourism campaign is only one of many across Japan, and it’s nice to see our favorites reppin’ their own prefectures.
Now, if you just so happen to be around the Miyazaki Bougainvillea Airport, you’ll be graced by this titanic Grass-Dragon Pokemon. You’ll find even more of them should you decide to travel around the country. While you won’t be able to catch them all, the photos will turn out great.
