During the Overwatch League 2022 Grand Finals, Blizzard revealed Ramattra, the game’s newest tank “antihero” to join the roster after the first season and battle pass ends on December 5.
Take a look at the video below which shows the character’s origin story:
While they provided no specific details regarding the kit of this new tank, it is pretty safe to say that we will hear more information about Ramattra in the coming weeks as Season 2 draws near.
During a media roundtable (courtesy of IGN), Overwatch 2 designer Alec Dawson shared this bit of info on what to expect for this Omnic tank.
“He does have two forms,” said Dawson. “He has an Omnic form and his Nemesis form. Part of the skill we’re testing is when to switch between those forms. Because the Omnic form, you’re playing this poke game, you’re protecting your team, a little bit at range. And then the Nemesis form you’re rushing down the enemies, you’re charging in there and you have these punches.”
My bias in using tanks in Overwatch 2 got me excited in this new character. Hopefully, with Ramattra entering the mix we get a lot more lore and backstory from Zenyatta as well.
Ramattra will enter Overwatch’s Season 2 battle pass as it kicks off December 6.
