Warner Bros. Pictures released the first teaser trailer for the live-action Barbie movie, and it’s coming to the Philippines this July.
While a Barbie movie might seem like Hollywood is running out of ideas, make no mistake, this film is something that movie lovers should watch out for. After all, it’s written by Greta Gerwig (the director of critically-acclaimed movies such as Lady Bird and Little Women). Plus, it stars a stacked cast that includes Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling (the internet’s favorite actor) as Ken!
Check out the new trailer which also features a funny homage to a cinema classic here:
The new trailer didn’t really show off much when it comes to the actual Barbie movie, but it does give us a sneak peek at what to expect. Plus, the teaser’s 2001: A Space Odyssey homage is a funny touch (especially for myself as a fan of Kubrick’s sci-fi classic).
Alongside Robbie and Gosling, the film also stars Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, Ncuti Gatwa, Issa Rae, Hari Nef, Michael Cera, Emma Mackey, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Perlman, Emerald Fennell, Sharon Rooney, Scott Evans, Ana Cruz Kayne, Connor Swindells, Ritu Arya, Jamie Demetriou, and Marisa Abela.
Catch the Barbie movie when it releases in cinemas in the Philippines in July 2023. Though currently, there’s no word yet on an official PH release date.
Along with Barbie, another film we’re interested in seeing in 2023 is Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves which releases this March.
