After launching the ROG Phone 6 a couple of months ago, ASUS ROG just revealed a special version of its signature gaming smartphone – the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition.
As you my have guessed from its name, this phone is made in collaboration with Blizzard’s smartphone Diablo game which was also released earlier this year. And much like the Batman Edition, the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition features an exclusive design along with a wealth of goodies inside the box.
Speaking of the box, let’s first take a look at the whole package before talking about the phone itself.
As you can see, the box that the phone comes in is massive. In fact, it seems more like a small laptop box or a box for a Collector’s Edition of a game. Plus, the box has cool artwork on the outside, making this a collectible piece in its own right.
Upon opening, you’ll see the special Worldstone-inspired phone box. Also inside the package is an aero case with a design inspired by Diablo Immortal’s teleport, as well as a map of Sanctuary with hidden marks that you can reveal with the bundled Fahir’s Light torch. Plus, there’s a special SIM card slot ejector tool with a Diablo Immortal-inspired design.
Now we move on to the phone itself. This Diablo Immortal edition features a striking design at the back. Specifically, it features artwork of Diablo in a menacing red hue along with the game’s logo and the ROG logo. The phone’s camera module also features the words “Immortality Awaits.”
Whie it seems like a standard ROG Phone 6 at the front, it will very much stand out when you open the screen. This is because the phone comes with a special Diablo Immortal Theme Pack that features themed animations, live wallpapers, charging animations, and sound effects. It even has a customized Always-on Panel and incoming call notifications.
Given what’s included in the box, the whole package is kind of like a Collector’s Edition for Diablo Immortal. This makes it a must-have for Diablo collectors or for the most dedicated fans of the game. Though this isn’t made just to satisfy Diablo fans though as the phone itself promises to be the ultimate mobile gaming device.
The ROG Phone 6 is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with an Adreno 730 GPU. This combo already makes it an incredibly powerful phone. Add the fact that this edition comes with 16GB of RAM, you should have no issues running any game with this phone, not just Diablo Immortal.
As for the display, the phone has a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 165Hz refresh rate. This should mean the gameplay experience will be buttery smooth, especially for games that can support higher refresh rate screens.
On top of these, the phone has a large 6,000mAh battery, complete with 65W fast wired charging. Thanks to this, you should be able to play for hours on the phone on a single charge. Not to mention that the phone won’t take long to fill up.
While it’s designed primarily for gaming, the phone also promises to be a good snapper. The ROG Phone 6 packs a 50 MP main, a 13MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro shooter. At the front meanwhile is a 12MP wide selfie camera.
We only got to unbox and try the phone out for around two days at the time of this article’s writing, so we have yet to extensively test out the phone’s gaming and other capabilities.
But considering how ROG Phone’s have never disappointed when it comes to performance, we have high hopes for this one as we test it out a bit more for our review.
While we can’t give our final verdict yet, this limited edition ROG Phone 6 should be on the wishlist of avid Diablo fans and collectors. Though it does come cheap as the phone has an SRP of PHP 68,995 in the Philippines.
