Finally, Pinoy gamers can get their hands on one easily as the PS5 is finally available in the Philippines without the need to pre-order!
Technically, the PS5 was released in the PH back in December 2020 — that’s over two years ago. While the console was released on PlayStation Authorized Retailers, the chip shortage from that time coupled with the massive demand meant that there weren’t enough consoles in stock. This meant pre-orders had to be made.
The previous system of pre-orders had folks try to place their order on specific retailer websites during a five-minute window. Finally, this all ends now as PlayStation announced that there’s now enough stock for everyone (in theory at least).
To celebrate this, PlayStation released a special promo video which you can watch here:
With this new announcement, PlayStation 5 consoles are now more easy to purchase for Pinoy gamers. Specifically, most authorized retailers in the Philippines now stock PS5 consoles without the need to pre-order. These includes stores such as Datablitz, I.TECH/GameOne, GameXtreme, and more.
Of course, this doesn’t mean you can go to any store and secure a console now. Some retailers still don’t stock consoles in their stores, meaning you still have to order them online. At least you don’t have to go through an unguaranteed pre-order period like before.
