What makes a “Flagship Killer”? According to OnePlus, it’s fitting your phone with the best materials possible, punching the specs up, and creating strong features that people can enjoy and maximize without much hassle – all while making sure you won’t break the bank.
The newly announced OnePlus 11 seemed to have it all and from our quick time with the unit, it seems the case.
Slim, Sleek, and Packs Quite a Punch
The OnePlus 11 5G comes in a relatively slim but definitely sleek stainless steel unibody that accentuates the chromes-out camera décor of device. Coming in two gorgeous colors and make, we got our hands on the Eternal Green colorway that’s further reinforced by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for the front display. The black counterpart, Titan Black, takes inspiration from the edges of space – particularly the workings of black holes. And even with a 8.5mm thin frame, the unit packs quite a punch with Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset to date powering the entire device – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. OnePlus also boasts of its RAM Vita capabilities that whether you get your hands on the 8GB/ 128GB or 16GB/ 256GB variant, the OnePlus 11 maximizes the RAM allocation intelligently prioritizing resource-hungry apps more. They also boasted that the phone can open as much as 40+ apps without slowing down.
Aside from this, the phone is equipped with a large 5000 mAh duel-cell battery and 100W SuperVOOC flash charging for easy top up once your battery gets low.
Optics that will make your shots look Pro
Hasselblad’s partnership with OnePlus has paved the way for the OnePlus 11 to generate a pretty impressive camera setup. With a large 50MP SONY IMX890 main shooter (with a large 1/1.56” sensor), 5-axis OIS + EIS support, 48MP IMX581 Ultra-Wide Camera for capturing everything in frame and going in on some crazy macro shots, and a 32MP IMX709 Portrait Tele for rich bokeh and depth-of-fields, subjects will take on a different (read: visually richer) light. The black and white filter is where we feel the camera shines best, but because of Hasselblad’s expertise as well, tones, color correction, subject separation, color separation, and the likes have been heightened as well. Images are not ridiculously saturated and colors appear more natural.
Securing the Future
Lastly, OnePlus promises that the OnePlus 11 will receive at least 4 years of constant service update. Enabling the device to be WiFi7 ready also places foundation for the OnePlus 11 to be somewhat “Future-proof”. On top of this, they were able to secure TÜV Rheinland certificates for Battery Healthy and Charging, and a 48-month lag-free experience.
Overall, OnePlus 11 is an exciting addition to the many Flagship devices that we’ll be seeing in the market. And while it’s just the start of the year, we cannot wait to see what the industry has in store for us. That being said, the OnePlus 11 sets the bar high for other flagship devices to follow suit.
