This new Rurouni Kenshin anime is made by Liden Films, the studio behind hit shows like Tokyo Revengers and Call of the Night.
Instead of being a sequel to the original Rurouni Kenshin, this 2023 anime is another adaptation of the iconic manga series. In a way, you can think of this as a remake of the classic 90s series.
The show’s cast members include Soma Saito as Kenshin, Rie Takahashi as Kaoru, Taku Yashiro as Sanosuke, and Makoto Koichi as Yahiko.

There’s no doubt a lot of interest in this anime, especially considering that Rurouni Kenshin (or Samurai X as it’s known by many 90s kids) is one of the most iconic anime shows of its day.
Though this new show has caused a stir among some anime fans, especially given that series creator Nobuhiro Watsuki was charged with a serious crime back in 2018.
