SEGA, via a statement with IGN, confirmed the news that they’ll skip this year’s E3:
“After careful consideration, we have decided not to participate in E3 2023 as an exhibitor. We look forward to sharing more information on announced and unannounced projects in the future.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson from Level Infinite confirmed they won’t also attend the game expo.
SEGA and Level Infinite are not the only companies skipping E3 2023, as also reported by IGN, major exhibitors Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft won’t also be participating this year.
Although there’s no solid statement that Sony won’t be coming over at E3 2023, Sony hasn’t been a participant over the last couple of years and have instead hosted their own showcase in the same year. Meanwhile, Nintendo and Microsoft did confirm that they won’t be appearing on the show floor this year, with the latter stating that they will host their own game showcase on June 11, 2023, as part of E3 Digital.
With SEGA and Level Infinite, along with these major companies skipping E3 2023, we could only wonder how this year’s E3 in-person event will turn out in June.
