The Trine series is back as THQ Nordic and Frozenbyte announced Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy, and it will be released on PC as well as current plus last-gen consoles.
A Clockwork Conspiracy is the next installment in the 2.5D puzzle-platforming series, and it promises to introduce lots of new features and additions.
But first, its premise is described as:
Traverse breathtaking landscapes in Trine’s deepest and visually richest chapter to date, with an all-new cast of characters as a riveting story awaits with the heroes’ reputations tarnished, their friends and families in danger, and their enchanted powers at stake. Trine 5 will take Amadeus the Wizard, Zoya the Thief, and Pontius the Knight on their most action-packed journey yet!
As for gameplay, the game will feature a 2.5D world with twenty levels for players to explore, as well as puzzles that are designed with replayability in mind. These puzzles also have dynamic physics which are tailored for both solo and co-op play.
For players who want to play co-op, there are local and online multiplayer options where up to 4 players can play.
As for its difficulty, the game promises to have challenging combat that should delight series veterans. Though it will also have various difficulty settings for combat, puzzles, and character resurrection which should make this game much more approachable for newer players.
Finally, the game promises to have a soundtrack that will capture the feel of each environment. Plus, there are also returning voice cast members along with new additions.
Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. For now, there’s no word yet on a release date.
