Acer recently announced that it is expanding its support for SpatialLabs with a range of new tools to help developers.

In case you’re unfamiliar, SpatialLabs is a technology by Acer for glasses-free, stereoscopic 3D experiences. This tech was launched before with a selection of devices, and now, Acer affirms its support for the technology with new developments.

For starters, Acer launched its support for the Unity plug-in. With this, SpatialLabs developers will be able to take advantage of the Unity plug-in’s existing tools and verticals to help them create stereo 3D content, without the need for specialized glasses.

Next, Acer revealed that it has reached conformance for its OpenXR Runtime, making SpatialLabs Pro devices conformant with OpenXR. Thanks to this development, the extended reality (XR) developer community can have access to more devices to showcase their glasses-free stereoscopic 3D works through Acer’s SpatialLabs Pro devices.

Finally, Acer revealed its proprietary SteamVR Bridge driver. With this, VR developers can take advantage of Acer’s SpatialLabs Pro devices to develop games for the SteamVR platform with a more streamlined workflow.
