Here’s a rundown of the Call of Duty 2023 leaks that were shared recently.
When 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 was released, early information suggested that it would be the first time since the franchise’s introduction that the game would receive a two-year content support cycle instead of being left behind for a brand-new annual release in 2023. Eventually, rumors evolved into describing that a “premium DLC” format would be used in the form of a pass that would cost around $70 for additional content in both multiplayer and campaign modes. Now that we’re almost halfway through the year, CoD 2023 leaks are starting to become more solidified.
An exclusive report by Tom Henderson, a prominent games industry insider/ leaker revealed a bunch of juicy new details about CoD 2023 and here’s everything you need to know.
Call of Duty 2023 will officially be called “Modern Warfare 3” and it will be primarily developed by the folks from Sledgehammer Games, the studio behind Advanced Warfare, WWII, and Vanguard.
New Warzone 2023 map
Warzone 2.0 was launched alongside 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 with a brand new map called Al Mazrah. While fans have been calling for a return to the original Verdansk from the first Warzone, it’s looking like that still won’t be happening anytime soon.
2023’s Modern Warfare 3 will bring in Las Almas as the new Warzone 2.0 battle royale map. This was a location featured in Modern Warfare 2’s campaign and it will be launched at a playable state for the public on Season 1 which is currently scheduled to happen on December 2023.
If things will go similarly to the way Caldera was introduced in the first Warzone, the Las Almas BR map will be fully replacing Warzone 2.0’s Al Mazrah. There are no details yet regarding a brand new map for the fan-favorite Resurgence mode.
Call of Duty 2023 Zombies
The Modern Warfare games have always had “Spec Ops” as a third mode alongside the staple campaign and multiplayer experiences. For CoD 2023, Modern Warfare 3 is said to finally bring in the famous Zombies mode into the Modern Warfare franchise.
Zombies for 2023’s Modern Warfare 3 is rumored to be Outbreak 2.0, a sequel to Black Ops: Cold War’s open-world zombies game mode. While most fans would probably still prefer a traditional round-based Zombie experience, the first Outbreak had a lot of good ideas which I felt like it could’ve benefitted from a bit more development and innovation which hopefully comes with Outbreak 2.0.
There’s still no confirmation if Outbreak 2.0 will be joining Warzone 2.0 as a free-to-play aspect of the game or part of the paid premium package.
Call of Duty leaks reveal Modern Warfare 2023
To summarize, CoD 2023 is rumored to be Modern Warfare 3 which will include a brand new Warzone 2.0 map called Las Almas, a Zombies experience in the form of Outbreak 2.0, a new story campaign that will be a direct sequel to 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 and an all-new multiplayer experience.
All of this is set to be officially revealed via an in-game Warzone 2.0 event sometime in August 2023.
There have been leaked dates for Modern Warfare 3. Take all of this with a grain of salt but more or less, these are the times you should look out for:
