Aside from games, PlayStation showed off new PS5 hardware at its recent showcase, including the Project Q handheld and wireless earbuds.
The highlight of the two is no doubt Project Q, a handheld accessory that’s designed for Remote Play. No, this won’t be a new PlayStation handheld that’s a successor to the Vita.
In case you need a refresher, Remote Play is the PS5’s feature to let players game on a different device (such as a PC or a smartphone) via streaming. Essentially, Project Q is a controller with a screen on it which can be useful for those who share a TV with someone but still want to play while the TV is occupied.
This handheld accessory features an 8-inch HD screen, as well as all the buttons of the PS5’s DualSense controller. In fact, it looks like a DualSense controller that’s chopped in half and glued on the sides of a tablet.
Along with this handheld, PlayStation also unveiled official PS5 wireless earbuds that promises lossless audio on PS5 and PC. These earbuds should also be compatible with mobile devices.
For now, there’s no word yet on when PlayStation Project Q and the wireless earbuds will be released. Though PlayStation promises that more info will be revealed in the coming months.
