Unbox Con 2023 is back with more exclusives, shops, and guests!

Calling all collectors, hobbyist, sneakerheads, and TCG players, Unbox Con is back and bigger than ever.

With more exclusives, shops, guests both local and international in attendance, the 2nd outing of the Unbox Con is set to make summer in the Philippines hotter than ever (but in a good way).

Still housed in SMX Convention Center in Pasay, Unbox Con will be occupying 2 gigantic halls along side other geeky events happening that weekend like Ozine and Manila Game Fest (co-produced by Unbox Live as well). This is happening this May 20-21, 2023.

With learning from the first Unbox Con last year, Unbox Con 2023’s lineup is poised to make the event a rousing success like its pilot predecessor.

Seth Fowler Returns to Manila

One of the major highlights of the event is the return of International Sneakerhead YouTuber and industrial designer, Seth Fowler. This is Seth’s 2nd time in Manila following Manila Sneaker Expo 8 last 2019.

Seth will be bringing his co-founded sock brand APTHCRY and rumored to have an Unbox Con 2013 exclusive design as well. Then there’s Paul Fuentebella, another international sneakerhead enthusiast who made the 550s impossible to cop.

Joining them for a fireside chat, panel session, and much-needed stage time, are Carlo Ople — founder and CEO of Unbox Group of companies who is also a household name in the local sneakerhead, hobbyist, and collecting scene — and the big man himself, Mr. Big Boy Cheng, Philippines’ foremost name in the sneaker world (and taste-maker extraordinaire). Big Boy Cheng will also be inducted in the Unbox Hall of Fame during the event.

EXCLUSIVES! EXCLUSIVES! EXCLUSIVES!

A lot of con-exclusive merch and releases happened last Unbox Con, and by no means or measure will this year be any different. In fact, it’s going to be bigger. Here’s what we know so far.

Seth Fowler will be bringing con-exclusive APTHCRY sock designs in limited quantities so you definitely want to add that to your rotation. Bratpack, Hundred Percent, Aftermarket, Secret Fresh, Coziest, It’s Sole Good, MNL Kingpin and many more will be pitching in as well for a slew of Unbox Con 2023 exclusives.

More than just Sneakers and Fashion

Not exactly into sneakers and fashion? No problem. If you’re a hobbyist or collector, they’ve got a lot lined up for you guys as well. For starters, there are more than 200 merchants going to be on the con, so better save up and make peace with your wallets.

Wetworks will be there once again to drop another exclusive. Last time they highlighted the Manila Shinigami and the Voltes V Foxy as the con exclusives for Unbox Con 2022. What could they have in store for us this time around? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Joining them are DTC Studio with their Sentinel drop, The Dreamer by Dreamer Studios, Teen Buffalo by KID Buffalo, Thiago by Moontangpak Studio, and the Unbox Con 2023 Con-Exclusive Giant Talong by Sskait. And that’s just scratching the surface.

There’s going to be a first-ever Piso Auction to be held for collectors of rare and exclusive pieces from the collections of Carlo Ople, Bigboy Cheng, and other creators and artists in the industry.

The auction during the last Unbox Con got a bit intense with people spending up to six-figures for 1-of-1 item pieces.

There’s also going to be an auction the most sought-after cards from Hobby Stadium and The Cardboard Corner. Marvel fans are especially in for a special treat with a live sketch session from Marlo Lopez Martos, an Upper Deck Artist for Marvel Cards.
