While many were expecting this game to be unveiled at RGG Summit Summer, SEGA revealed Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023.
Infinite Wealth is essentially Yakuza 8 (or LAD 8) which was announced last year. Though finally, it has a proper trailer which gives us a bit more of an idea of what to expect.
While there’s no gameplay that was shown yet, the hilarious new trailer did show Ichiban waking up to find himself with no idea of where he’s at, or where his clothes are.
Check out the new trailer here:
Given the tropical beach setting, it seemed at first that the new Like a Dragon game will be set partly in Okinawa. But it’s then revealed that everyone there is speaking English. So, from the looks of it, Ichiban’s next adventure will be in Hawaii. This is based on how the new location looks, as well as the fact that Hawaii is a popular destination for Japanese people.
Based on other series titles, Infinite Wealth should also be set at least partly in Kamurocho. Though we might have to wait until the RGG Summit Summer event before we find more about the game.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC. Though as with pretty much every new entry in the series, the game is also expected to release on PlayStation, so we expect a confirmation on this soon.
In case you missed it, SEGA also revealed that Like a Dragon Gaiden will be released later this year.
