Aside from Persona 3 Reload, ATLUS announced Persona 5 Tactica, a new tactical RPG starring the Phantom Thieves that was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023.
While it’s not a new mainline entry, this upcoming game should still be something that Persona fans should be excited about, especially as it features tactical RPG gameplay that’s unique given that other Persona games are your usual turn-based JRPGs.
You can watch the announcement trailer for Tactica here:
Interestingly, Tactica has a cutesy deformed art style that’s slightly reminiscent (but doesn’t look exactly like) the Persona Q games. This is an interesting design choice given that Persona 5 Strikers had an art style that looked very much like the OG Persona 5.
What’s also confirmed in the trailer is that Tactica will introduce new characters. Though it’s not clear exactly when this game takes place in the timeline. More details about its story as well as its gameplay should be revealed by Atlus soon.
Persona 5 Tactica will be released on November 17, 2023 on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
For now, there’s no word yet on a release on PlayStation, as is the case with Persona 3 Reload. Though it’s likely that this will get a PS5 release as well given that this was also the case with the Persona 3 and 4 releases which were also initially revealed for Xbox only.
