After releasing the first round of free updates back in March, SEGA released Sonic’s Birthday Bash — the second free content update for Sonic Frontiers.
As its name implies, this new update is birthday themed, so it’s no surprise that the highlights include a bunch of birthday party decorations that players can use to switch the islands’ appearance and Sonic’s outfit to a birthday theme.

Aside from party decor, the update also brings the Action Chain Challenge where the challenge is to get a high score using Score Attacks across the Starfall Islands.
The update also adds the new skill Spin Dash that allows players to attack enemies while moving. There’s also the new collectable Koco which can now be found across the Starfall Islands.
Along with the aforementioned additions, the new update also features the following:
- Status Map
- “Frontier Elite” costume
- New Game+
- Various Additional Features and Improvements
- The deceleration speed when jumping can now be changed.
- An icon will now be displayed when new content is added to Extras.
- Music shifts in Cyber Space caused by certain effects can now be toggled on and off.
