Following its reveal back in April, Disney+ announced that Star Wars: Ahsoka will be streamed on the platform beginning this August.
In case you missed its announcement, Ahsoka is the next Disney+ original series, and as its name implies, it will feature the story of Anakin Skywalker’s former padawan Ahsoka Tano from the Clone Wars series.
The series’ release date was revealed in a new TV spot which you can watch here:
This upcoming series is one that fans of Star Wars: Rebels are no doubt excited for. After all, it features many of the characters from Rebels, including the likes of Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, and Ezra Bridger.
Of course, the primary focus here is Ahsoka Tano, and this series will follow her as she investigates an emerging threat to the galaxy following the fall of the Empire. This means the series is set between the events of Episode 6 and 7.
The rest of the cast includes:
- Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren
- Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla
- Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll
- Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati
- Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth
- David Tennant as Huyang
- Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn
- Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger
While this series is a must-watch for fans of Rebels, even those who are only familiar with the recent Disney+ Star Wars shows should still watch out for this given its potential crossover with The Mandalorian.
Star Wars: Ahsoka will release on August 23, 2023, exclusively on Disney+ in all regions where the service is officially available.
