After its reveal last month, ATLUS finally shared more details about Persona 5 Tactica, including what its story will be about.
Though the game was announced with a trailer that showed gameplay and cutscene footage, it wasn’t clear exactly what the game will be about. Now though, ATLUS shared the first volume of the Nyahoo News series which introduces the new Persona 5 spin-off.
Specifically, the video gives us a rundown of what to expect story-wise, as well as introduces the new characters. Check it out here:

After wandering into a bizarre realm, the Phantom Thieves are attacked by a military group named Legionnaires. As they try to fight back, the tyrant Marie suddenly appears and brainwashes everyone but Joker and Morgana…
When all hope seems lost, the two are saved by Erina, the leader of the Rebel Corps.
They discover that the world they’re in is known as the Kingdoms.
After fending off Marie’s pursuit, Erina takes Joker and Morgana to the Rebel Corps hideout. When they arrive there, the two are surprised to discover that it looks exactly like Leblanc.
What is this new realm?
And why would Leblanc be here?
Save the rest of the Phantom Thieves from Marie’s mind control and uncover the mystery behind the Kingdoms!
While it’s not exactly clear how this game ties up to Persona 5 and Persona 5 Strikers, it’s at least good to know what the game’s premise is. Essentially, the Phantom Thieves are transported into a different realm called the Kingdoms and are brainwashed by a seemingly evil group, all except Joker and Morgana. This means players will initially have control of Joker and Morgana as they journey to save the rest of their friends.
The video also revealed that Joker and Morgana will team up with the Rebel Corps led by Erina. This group leads the charge agains the Legionnaires and their leader, Marie. Interestingly, Marie’s goal is to have an extravagant wedding.
Before Joker and Morgana get to save the others, they first meet Toshiro Kasukabe, a politician from the real world who has lost his memory. While unsure if they should trust him, the two decide to team up with Toshiro for the time being.

Persona 5 Tactica will be released on November 17, 2023, for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and PC. The game is also available for pre-order now.
