Gamescom Asia 2023 is just a quarter away and we’re already getting news on what will be going down in this year’s event. We’re happy to finally hear that a physical B2C (business-to-consumer) Entertainment Zone is finally happening! More than that, Gamescom Asia 2023 partners with Capcom for their first ever B2C Entertainment Zone.
Last year, Gamescom Asia finally launched a physical event after doing a couple of events digitally. It was fully B2B (business-to-business) centered with the event being a hub for connections and networking among peers in the gaming industry. This wasn’t by design though as it was originally planned that there would also be a B2C area to cater to gaming fans and the community in general. Due to pandemic protocols however, the B2C area was cancelled for the event. Hence Gamescom Asia 2023 finally launching its B2B area is an exciting announcement as it does mean that we’re finally able to see Gamescom Asia’s “true form” so to say. Gamescom Asia 2023 partners with Capcom for this huge milestone which ensures us that we’ll be seeing some great stuff for the B2C area especially with the successful release of Street Fighter 6 recently.
“We are extremely excited to open the Entertainment Zone onsite to the public for the first time this year. We know it has been long anticipated by passionate fans and gamers and we look forward to welcoming them to gamescom asia. As the team works to put up a good show this year with new highlights and expanded mainstays, we invite companies to join us and make gamescom asia the premier Southeast Asian destination to showcase and testbed their games, latest gaming products and services, and reach an audience that is unique to the region,” said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and Vice President Asia-Pacific of Koelnmesse Pte Ltd (Gamescom Asia Organizer).
The B2C Entertainment Zone is planned to showcase a lot of trending games, interactive entertainment, and featured areas like indies, esports, cosplay, boardgames, group play zones, and more. Visitors from around the region can get their hands on games by their favorite publishers and indie studios, watch live stage entertainment, and even do cosplay! There’s certainly a lot to look forward to.
Gamescom Asia 2023 happens on October 19–22, 2023 in Singapore and is expected to attract over 30,000 visitors and over 150 exhibitors as the Entertainment Zone exhibition opens its doors to the public this year. If you want to find out more details about the event, be sure to check out their website. For tickets, they will be going public from end-July. Please stay tuned for further announcements.
